Trapped in a future where Sentinels rule the earth and Sam, Dani & Lila Cheney are all that remains of the mutant resistance on earth. The Rahne of 1987 tries to talk to this world's Dani. Note that Sam says "We're pretty much it. All that's left. We've buried friends, lovers, family..." We can assume they've all buried friends and family, but lovers? He obviously isn't talking about himself and Lila, since they're still together. Is he, then, referring to Danielle?
